Systems
Defines a system to monitor. A system will set the type of monitored environment and is associated with connectors to define the connection parameters.
Purpose
- A system is usually identified by a SAP SID and identifies a logical system with all its underlying components
- Group connectors used to connect to the system and to define monitoring operations
- Create authorizations allowing to control visibility and operations on the associated systems
- Aggregate information and data in monitoring applications such as dashboards and alarm console.
- Define business rules and reactions associated with the system
Definition
- A system is defined by the below parameters:

| Display name | The name to use to identify the system |
| System ID | the SID of the system |
| Type | The stack type of the system |
| Short name | A short name used as a key to identify the system. Cannot be changed once created |
| Description | An optional description |
| Role | The role of the system |
| Environment | The applicative environment of the system |
| Properties | Optional properties to associate with the system |
