====== Tags ====== ===== Purpose ===== * Tags are labels that can be assigned to devices. It can be used for the following purposes: * Visualy identify particular devices. By example you can identify production devices with a particular color. * Filter devices of a particular tag value within the different tables of the application. * Configure specific authorizations for tagged devices : By example to prevent a user to delete production devices ===== Tags UI ===== * The tags settings shows a table of the existing tags within the tenant * It allows the following actions: * Create/Edit a tag * Assign a tag to devices * Delete/bulk delete tags {{..:settings:pasted:20210616-124723.png}} ---- ===== Create/Edit ===== * Press **Create** or select **Edit** in the table action menu to open the tag editor * Set tag parameter * Color * Name * Description {{..:settings:pasted:20210616-125406.png}} ---- ===== Assign ===== * Press **assign** from table action menu to open the assign editor * The editor will let you manage the devices to assign to the tags * The editor offers 3 views: * ALL : Displays all devices * ASSIGNED : Displays devices currently assigned to the tag * UNASSIGNED: Displays devices currently unassigned to the tag * Use the different views to select/unselect the devices to assign to tags {{..:settings:pasted:20210616-130124.png}} ---- ===== Delete/Bulk delete ===== * You can **delete** a single tag or a group of tags by either using the table action menu or the **bulk delete** button {{:common:icon_warning.png}} You cannot delete tags when assigned to devices
