Collector profiles

A collector profile is a named configuration template that centralises all collector settings in one place.
Instead of configuring each collector individually, you define a profile once and apply it to as many collectors as needed.

Managing profiles

  • Use the Create button to define a new profile (name and description required).
  • Use the Edit option in the row menu to modify an existing profile.
  • Use the Assign option in the row menu to apply a profile to one or several collectors.
  • Use Delete to permanently remove a profile. Collectors that were using it will retain their last applied settings.

Note: Editing a profile does not automatically update the collectors using it. You must re-assign the profile after saving changes.

Profile sections

Setting Description
Log level Verbosity of the collector logs. Set to INFO for normal operations
DEBUG expiration (min) Duration before the log level automatically reverts from DEBUG to INFO, to avoid indefinite verbose logging

System availability alerts

These settings control the alarms raised when a target SAP system is slow or unreachable.

Setting Description
Max response time (ms) Threshold above which a connection problem alarm is raised
Connection problem severity Severity of the alarm raised when max response time is exceeded
Max invalid time (s) Duration after which a non-responding system triggers an alarm
Not responding severity Severity of the alarm raised when max invalid time is exceeded
Max availability timeout (s) Availability check timeout
Availability timeout severity Severity of the alarm raised on availability timeout
Timezone alarm severity Severity of alarms raised when a timezone mismatch is detected on a system

Internal alerts

These settings control alarms raised on internal collector errors, independent of target system availability.

Setting Description
Monitor job error severity Severity of alarms raised when an internal monitoring job fails
CCMS error severity Severity of alarms raised on CCMS collection errors
Monitor tree severity Severity of alarms raised on monitoring tree read errors

Licenses

Setting Description
Max license expiration time (days) Number of days before a license expiry to start raising an alert

Worker settings

Setting Description
Threads Number of concurrent worker threads. Increase only when monitoring more than 100 systems
Workers memory size (MB) Memory allocated to the worker pool. Increase only when monitoring more than 100 systems
Workers timeout (s) Maximum execution time per worker task before it is aborted
Skip results compression Disables compression of results sent to the Cockpit. Not recommended for large deployments
