Table of Contents
Monitoring
The Monitoring tab defines health supervision parameters applied to collectors themselves — not to the SAP systems they monitor, but to the collector service and its host machine.
Settings are organised into two sections, each accessible as a sub-tab.
Collector status
- Defines the thresholds and alert conditions used to detect collector connectivity issues.
- These settings control when the Cockpit raises an alarm about a collector being unreachable, slow to respond, or in a degraded state.
- Typical parameters include response time thresholds, disconnection duration limits, and their associated alarm severities.
Memory and disk
- Defines the resource usage thresholds that trigger alarms on the collector host.
- These settings allow early detection of resource exhaustion before it impacts monitoring quality.
- Typical parameters include (and their associated alarm severities)
- Heap memory usage threshold (%)
- RAM usage threshold (%)
- Disk usage threshold (%)
Notes
- Changes to monitoring settings are propagated to the collector within 30 seconds.
- These thresholds complement the Statistics tab, which displays current resource usage in real time.
- Alarm severities follow the same scale used across the rest of the Cockpit (e.g. Critical, Major, Minor, Warning).
